Kris McHarg was born and raised in Wisconsin. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a BSN, and later received her Masters in Nursing as a Maternal-Child Clinical Nurse Specialist from the University of Washington, Seattle. Kris retired from the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps in 1994 after 21 years of military service. She earned her Post-Masters PNP certification from The Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C. in 1996. She is also a board certified lactation consultant and the NAPNAP representative to the United States Breastfeeding Committee. Kris is a clinical preceptor/ affiliate faculty for George Mason University and Catholic University. She works at Children's Medical Associates of Northern Virginia, with offices in Fairfax and Alexandria. Kris is married and has 3 children in college.
