About NAPNAP:  With approximately 7000 members and 49 state chapters, NAPNAP is the professional association for PNPs and other advanced practice nurses who care for children.  Established in 1973, NAPNAP has been actively advocating for children's health by:  providing funding, education and research opportunities to PNPs; influencing legislation that affects maternal/child health care; and producing and distributing educational materials to parents and families.  National NAPNAP's web site is:  www.napnap.org

About Virginia Chapter of NAPNAP:
Started in 1991, the Virginia Chapter of NAPNAP has 2 subgroups - the Richmond area group and the Northern Virginia group.  Additionally there is a separate Hampton Roads, VA chapter in the Norfolk area (www.napnap-hr.org).

The Executive Board of the Virginia Chapter of NAPNAP is composed of members from both Richmond and Northern Virginia.  The Richmond and NoVa subgroups sponsor monthly or bimonthly dinner lectures/ business meetings during the year.  The chapter is authorized to award CEU credit for the meetings.  Additionally the meetings are a great place to network with other area PNPs, to find out about job openings, and to learn about legislative efforts in the state.  A quarterly newsletter is published for the members.
